The English Country Music Weekend for 2003 was held at Edgemount Farm in High Bradfield. The event was an outstanding success, and in response to many requests Mark Davies, who organised it and made his farm available for the weekend, agreed to organise another event for 2004. This was the First Bradfield Traditional Music Weekend. A second followed, and we're pleased to announce that there will be another weekend this year.
The following guests have confirmed they will be attending:
Jeff Wesley (Northamptonshire)
John Greaves (North Yorkshire)
John & Many Waltham (Dorset)
Roger Hinchcliffe, Joe Atkins, and Stanley Marsden (South Yorkshire)
Members of the Pennine Concert Party (West Yorkshire)
Jerry O'Reilly, Maire ni Chronin, Francie Devine, and Shay Fogarty (Dublin)
Finbarr Wall (Ireland & London)
Chris "Yorkie" Bartram
Bob Lewis, Vic & Tina Smith (Sussex)
Rod & Danny Stradling
Alan Day
Steve Harrison & Annie Dearman
Pipers Share and Andrew & Margaret Watchorn (Northumberland)
Ian Russell
Geoffrey Crabb (Concertina Maker)
The Handsworth Sword Dancers
The format for the weekend will be as in previous years, with sessions in
three local pubs and in the barn and marquee at Edgemount. This year we are
holding a ceilidh in the new village hall in Low Bradfield, with Pipers Share
providing the music and many of the guests doing spots.
There will be a real ale bar and on-site catering.
Weekend tickets are £10 per person, to include camping. Day tickets are £2 (Friday), £5 (Saturday) and £5 (Sunday).
If you are at all interested in playing - or in hearing, or finding out more about - English Traditional Music, mark the date in your diary, and enjoy an unforgettable weekend. More details:
